WILLEMSTAD - The primaries for the parliamentary elections will take place on the weekend of January 30 and 31, 2021.

The Supreme Electoral Council announces that ten polling stations, it is possible to vote for parties that do not have at least one representative in parliament. These parties need 800 votes to participate in the March elections.

A list of 22 parties is circulating on social media, almost half of which are said to be new and do not yet have a seat.

In 2016, more than half of the candidate lists were dropped before the actual elections started.
