WILLEMSTAD - The police say they are concerned about warnings being circulated via WhatsApp groups. The various app groups have been created to warn people about roadblocks.

The traffic checks are passed on through the groups, so that motorists can bypass them. The police say they feel cheated. The measures are precisely intended to protect society by not having too many people on the street.

The Curaçao Police Force tells says that “there are people who do not understand the seriousness of the situation. They choose to continue not complying with the measures and endanger the lives of others”.
