Pisas: “Only money from the Netherlands, supervision by IMF

WILLEMSTAD - The upcoming MFK/PNP government does want financial support from the Netherlands, but not the supervision by the same Kingdom partner. Supervision should be done by the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Prospective Prime Minister Gilmar "Pik" Pisas (MFK) says he is grateful for the liquidity support of the Netherlands, but "the government of Curaçao bears primary responsibility for the governance of the country and the socio-economic well-being of the population.

The principle of self-reliance applies to the MFK and PNP parties, also when it comes to the COHO (Caribbean Body for Reform and Development). Here too, self-reliance must come first. Moreover, Pisas has serious doubts about the knowledge and experience of the body yet to be established.

The reform program therefore prefers "expert guidance from an experienced body" such as the IMF.
