Pietersz-Janga places advertisement to defend policies

The minister knows that a combination of vaccination and 'pro alternatives' is needed to combat the coronavirus together.

WILLEMSTAD - Minister of Public Health Dr. Dorothy Pietersz-Janga posted an advertisement in a local Dutch newspaper to defend her policy which was considered controversial by the medical sector on the island.

Pietersz-Janga is referred to in the advertisement as 'a minister for the entire population'.

The minister also indicates that a combination of vaccination and 'pro alternatives' is needed to combat the coronavirus together.

The Minister of Health made some statements during a TV interview last week Thursday in which she said to have no objection to the use of ivermectin and vitamins for the prevention and treatment of COVID19. The minister claimed that it has been shown that good results have been achieved in a certain number of milligrams.

Medical professionals in Curaçao reacted with shock to the claims of Pietersz-Janga, who is a doctor by profession. This is the reason why the minister was heavily criticized since as both a medical professional and a government authority she cannot recommend the use of any medication that has not been approved by the proper authorities.
