WILLEMSTAD - There are serious plans for a new free zone next to Hato. Behind the current free zone is a Curacao Multi Commodity Center, an international trading place for gold and diamonds.

The initiative comes from a US entrepreneur to model in Dubai. For several months, a large area has been cleaned next to airport Hato.

The Center wants to open its doors in 2022. Whether that will succeed will become clear in the coming weeks if the airport decides about it.
