PCR and antigen test mandatory for travelers from Monday

WILLEMSTAD - Travelers from Bonaire must show a negative PCR test before departure from Monday and undergo an antigen test three days after arrival at Hato airport. The reason is that Curaçao has qualified Bonaire as a very high-risk country.

A vaccination certificate is not mandatory for travelers from high-risk countries, but residents of Curaçao who have such a certificate are advised to take it with them when traveling.

Children under 12 who do not show any symptoms of being infected with Covid19 do not need to be tested.

Previously, an antigen test up to 24 hours before departure was sufficient to enter Curaçao. Since Also if the travelers want to return to Bonaire, they have to take another PCR test.

"Travellers will pay up to $249 on all tests with a return ticket," reports ABC Online Media. These costs are in addition to the $170 plane ticket. Many travelers are angry because they are fully vaccinated but still must get tested.
