Parliament Organizes Orientation Sessions for Incoming Members

WILLEMSTAD – Parliament is organizing a three-day series of informational sessions for all Members of Parliament (MPs) who will take office for the new term (2025–2029). The sessions will take place on April 14, 15, and 16, 2025, at the Curaçao Marriott Beach Resort in the Royal Ballroom.

Over the course of the three days, MPs will receive presentations from various institutions and experts on a wide range of topics relevant to their parliamentary duties. Participating organizations include the Ombudsman, the Central Bank of Curaçao and Sint Maarten, and the Ministry of Finance.

The sessions will cover the constitutional roles of these institutions and how they can support and assist MPs in carrying out their legislative and oversight responsibilities. A special focus will also be placed on understanding the national budget—its preparation, interpretation, and analysis.

The goal of these sessions is to equip all MPs with the necessary knowledge and context to perform their roles effectively. By providing this shared foundation of information, Parliament aims to ensure that every member begins the legislative term with equal understanding and preparation.
