WILLEMSTAD - The Parliament of Curaçao is organizing the Interparliamentary Kingdom Consultation, IPKO, which will take place from February 28 to March 3, 2023. During the IPKO, the delegations of the Parliaments of Curaçao, the Netherlands, Aruba and Sint Maarten will meet and provide information on topics that affect the countries.
They also exchange ideas and starting points to create more insight and understanding.
At each Interparliamentary Kingdom Consultation, the themes are determined in advance. The following themes are on the agenda for the upcoming IPKO:
• the reception of migrant flows within the Kingdom;
• the democratic deficit;
• lasting relationships within the Kingdom;
• reforms including the country packages and history of slavery and colonialism.
The delegations will also pay a working visit to various locations, in connection with the history of slavery and colonialism.
One day before the start of the IPKO, the delegations of the Parliaments of Curaçao, Aruba and Sint Maarten will meet in a tripartite consultation. During this meeting, these delegations discuss specific topics that concern these countries and preparations are made for the upcoming IPKO.
At the end of the IPKO, an agreement list is established by all delegations.
