WILLEMSTAD - After last week's introductions, today marks the official first day of the new school year—a day filled with opportunities to learn, grow, discover, and develop. While PAR acknowledges that not everything is as it should be, with no signs of improvement in the education system and challenges growing each year, PAR remains encouraged and admires the efforts of both teachers and students. From the youngest teacher to the youngest student, your daily dedication keeps the hope of our island for a better future alive.
To the Teachers: Your commitment to shaping the minds and character of new students is a privilege that extends beyond the resources at your disposal. The obstacles grow each year, and despite the lack of attention to the widely recognized challenges, teachers have remained guides and beacons of light. Your passion, creativity, and sense of responsibility help fill the gaps at every moment.
To the Students: Your attitude and participation this school year are crucial. Remember that the essence of education lies within you—your courage, determination, and dreams. While we may not always be able to change the circumstances around you, you have the power to influence your attitude and resolve.
In the words of our Vice Chairman, Mr. Shaheen Elhage: "It doesn't matter what you have or don't have; your desire to learn and move forward is the best motivation there is. Take every action with courage and determination, and always believe in your ability to succeed."
To the Parents: You face the challenge of raising your child(ren), where the influence of the digital world and the protection of values and standards become increasingly difficult. You will constantly seek to balance prioritizing your child(ren)’s well-being.
This school year should serve as a period of unity, support, and dialogue, with our eyes set on the bright future we will build together for our country.
Let’s focus on the opportunities ahead.
Let’s choose to see the possibilities in every challenge and obstacle.
Let’s celebrate every progress we make along the way.
Teachers, students, parents—PAR believes in you.
