PAR Party Leaders Reach Agreement: Zita Jesus Leito to Continue as Independent MP

WILLEMSTAD - During a Party Council meeting held on March 27, 2024, the political leader of PAR, Quincy Girigorie, and Zita Jesus Leito jointly announced to PAR members that Zita Jesus Leito will continue her role as an independent Member of Parliament.

Following various discussions within the framework of PAR's rebranding process to realign itself for the forthcoming election in March 2025, there were differing opinions between the party leadership and Jesus-Leito regarding the timing and manner of this decision. However, after deliberations, they reached an agreement.

The parties have united to determine that both trajectories will continue separately in an amicable manner, in line with the party's ideology.

This situation is indeed unique, as in the past, such decisions by individuals were often prompted by significant disagreements. It is understandable that reaching this decision was not an easy task for the parties involved.

Jesus-Leito has dedicated many years of service to the country and the PAR party, through both prosperous and challenging times. Consequently, the parties have committed to maintaining open communication throughout this journey.

PAR acknowledges the necessity for change to better serve the community in the upcoming period.

The party expresses gratitude for Jesus Leito's contributions to both the party and the community. Similarly, Jesus Leito appreciates all the opportunities she has had to serve the community through PAR.
