PAR denounces lack of vision for Curaçao's well-being in cabinet Pisas

WILLEMSTAD - The PAR fraction has raised concerns after State Secretary Mrs. Van Huffelen recently addressed the Second Chamber, emphasizing Curaçao's structural issues and the apparent lack of "execution power" within the current Cabinet Pisas. Mrs. Van Huffelen underscored to the Second Chamber that Curaçao faces significant structural poverty problems, with no economic growth benefiting its people, and an education system in crisis. She criticized Cabinet Pisas for not taking adequate action to address these issues, labeling it a "lack of execution power."

However, the PAR faction contends that the real issue with Cabinet Pisas lies not in its execution power but rather in its lack of vision for Curaçao's well-being. They accuse the cabinet of prioritizing the interests of political allies over the needs of the people.

The PAR highlighted several instances where they believe Cabinet Pisas prioritized the interests of "Very Good Friends" over the public:

Minister Dorothy Pietersz-Janga attempted to gift 'Very Good Friends' from MFK 4.7 million guilders, despite a court order demanding repayment to the community.

Minister Silvania exempted over 3 billion guilders in taxes owed by wealthy companies and banks, choosing instead to sell the country's gold to pay off a humble man's 1.8 billion tax debt for Ennia's problem, which his own advisor caused.

Minister Pisas publicly purchased the Campo Alegre brothel with 10 million guilders of public money, claiming there was no funding available for education. This decision was made while schools lacked proper ventilation and air conditioning.

Minister Cooper publicly awarded houses and millions of guilders to a 'Very Good Friend' through FKP, ignoring public scrutiny and collaborating with uncooperative professionals.

Minister Pisas continued to support the open refinery, while allegedly engaging in illicit activities at Bullenbaai to smuggle oil from Venezuela, leaving the people of Curaçao in debt for 2 years with no benefits.

The PAR concluded that Cabinet Pisas makes decisions that prioritize political allies over the well-being of Curaçao's citizens. Instead of serving the people's interests, they allege that the cabinet's actions primarily benefit their political connections.
