WILLEMSTAD - More than 100 schools in Curaçao will receive new digital infrastructure, including high-speed fiber optic connections and modern ICT equipment. On December 2, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports presented the progress of its education digitization program.
In addition to the infrastructure upgrade, teachers and school administrators will receive training on how to use digital learning tools such as Microsoft 365. A Student Tracking System (LVS) will also be introduced to better monitor educational outcomes.
The ministry is also focusing on inclusive education with programs like Magrid, which is designed for children with learning challenges. These plans are part of a broader vision to future-proof education and make better use of data in decision-making.
Magrid is a scientifically supported, fully visual educational program that promotes the development of mathematical, visual-spatial, and cognitive skills in young children. It is designed for children ages three to nine, including those with special educational needs, and can be used without relying on language skills. Through more than 2,500 interactive and tactile activities, Magrid helps children understand complex concepts in an intuitive and accessible way.
