Organizers: “Curaçao Pride 2019 better than ever!”

WILLEMSTAD - Last Sunday was the last day of the Curaçao Pride 2019. The Curaçao Pride was officially opened this year by Minister Giselle McWilliam of Economic Development. In her speech, she emphasized the importance of equal rights for everyone on Curaçao and how she focuses on this in parliament.

“The Curaçao Pride 2019 was widely supported this year by the local companies. Where various companies spontaneously raised the rainbow flag last year, this year also various statements were made via Social Media. Lots of companies transformed their logo within rainbow colors. We also noticed an increasing number of international guests for the Curaçao Pride. Visitors from South Africa, USA, Canada, the Netherlands, Brazil, Venezuela, Colombia, Aruba, Jamaica, Bonaire, St. Maarten, Mexico, Trinidad & Tobago, the Philippines, Bermuda and France all came to Curaçao especially for the Pride. In addition to these foreign visitors, more and more local LGBT people dare to show their faces at the various parties and activities. That is why next year the motto will be: "This is Your Pride."
