OM Curaçao requests Aruba to investigate the National Criminal Investigation Department

WILLEMSTAD, ORANJESTAD - The Public Prosecution Service in Curaçao has asked colleagues in Aruba to start investigating the National Criminal Investigation Department concerning the provision of sensitive information by the Central bank of Curacao and St. Maarten.

The Public Prosecution Service wishes to guarantee openness, independence, impartiality and integrity in the investigation. In May, the National Criminal Investigation Department received a complaint from Mr Monk of the opposition party Korsou di Nos Tur against the Central Bank.

In the indictment, the bank is accused of not adhering to the screening law. Furthermore, they would have shared confidential information about a candidate with others. The Attorney General has ordered the National Criminal Investigation Department to start an investigation.
