THE HAGUE - The official language during the IPKO will remain Dutch. This is apparent from the list of agreements published by the Interparliamentary Kingdom Consultation.
If participants in the consultation wish to speak another language, they must provide an interpreter themselves. The translation can also only take place if it "does not stand in the way of a lively exchange of views".
In recent days there has been a lot of commotion around the subject when Member of Parliament Rennox Calmes of Trabou Pa Korsou (TPK) indicated that he wanted an interpreter to be able to give his speech in Papiamento.
