Number of infections in Aruba rises

ORANJESTAD - The number of corona infections in Aruba continues to rise. Yesterday, 86 new COVID-19 cases were identified, including five among non-residents. 32 people were also found to be virus-free after quarantine or isolation. This means that the number of active infections has risen to 591, of which 29 among non-residents. Since no one died of corona yesterday, the number of deceased still stands at 52 people in Aruba.

Currently, 21 corona patients are being cared for at Horacio Oduber Hospital, nine of whom are in intensive care. The Directorate of Public Health reports that 618 tests have been carried out. Aruba had a high peak in September, then the number of infections decreased, but the number of active infections has been rising again for three weeks.
