Non-vital stores open during lockdown

WILLEMSTAD - Although Curaçao has been in lockdown for almost three weeks, fines are still being handed out to companies that do not comply with the rules.

In the week of April 5 to 12, ten non-vital businesses were open, such as beauty salons and hairdressing salons. The owners of those stores have been fined. In the same period, 26 fines were handed out to people who did not wear a face mask where it is mandatory.

These often involved people in supermarkets and mini markets.

The multidisciplinary team, which includes agents and employees of the Ministry of Economic Development, has released the figures. The team continues with their inspections.
