WILLEMSTAD - The new Curaçao parliamentary year has been officially opened today. After the elections in March 2021, a new constellation of parliament took office for the period 2021 to 2025.
The solemn ceremony took place at the parliament building in the inner city. The military part was again part of the ceremony this year. Last year, the part was omitted due to the corona measures.
Governor Lucille George-Wout was present at the ceremony, as were the Members of Parliament and the new government.
As every year, the Police Harmony performed at the ceremony. Traditionally, the national anthems of Curaçao and the Netherlands have been played by the orchestra.
