New hospital signs agreements to save on expenses

WILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao Medical Center (CMC) has signed several Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) to save on its monthly expenses.

One of these MoU’s is with the company Zakitó District Cooling.

This company provides a cooling system using deep sea water, not only for the hospital, but also for hotels near Zakitó. With the cooling system, CMC will soon save one million guilders on electricity costs.

In addition to this MoU, CMC has also signed an agreement with the Erasmus Medical Center in Rotterdam, which recently experienced a major relocation itself. And further with the Curaçao GP Association (CHV).

An automation project will be collaborated with the GPs, so that medical information can easily be exchanged. Practices are being strengthened so that primary care improves, which also leads to savings in healthcare costs.
