National Hurricane Center warns of tropical depression developing

MIAMI - The National Hurricane Center in Miami warns of a potential tropical depression developing towards the southern Caribbean islands.

The depression is still located in the eastern Atlantic Ocean southwest of the Cape Verde Islands and produces rain and thunderstorms.

Environmental conditions seem conducive to the development of a system in the coming days, and a tropical depression as a result, according to the center.

Starting Monday, the system will move westward at a speed of about 15 miles per hour across the Atlantic Ocean toward the Caribbean islands.
