National Archives Curaçao and the Netherlands will work together for digitization

THE HAGUE, WILLEMSTAD - The National Archives of Curaçao and the Netherlands will work together. Both bodies have signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

In the accord, agreements have been made about cooperation with regard to the e-depot. After the signing, State Secretary Gunay Uslu of Culture and Media and Minister Ornelia Martina of Administration, Planning and Services visited the education studio of the Dutch National Archives.

The aim of the collaboration is to digitize the archives in Curaçao and the Caribbean Netherlands and to store the scans permanently and safely in a specially reserved part of the e-depot. In time, the scans can also be shown on the websites of the National Archives of Curaçao and the Caribbean Netherlands. This makes the archives directly accessible to the public.
