Motion of no confidence against Prime Minister Rhuggenaath

WILLEMSTAD - Opposition party MFK yesterday presented a motion of no confidence against Prime Minister Eugene Rhuggenaath in Parliament.

According to the party, Rhuggenaath and Finance Minister Kenneth Gijsbertha have ensured that the country's debts have only increased in the space of two years. They have no confidence that Rhuggenaath can get the economy going again.

There was no majority in parliament yesterday for the motion. MFK says it will continue to play its role as the biggest opposition party in Parliament and hopefully one day the parties working with the Prime Minister will see that he won’t get the economy going again. Hopefully by then, these parties will also support a motion of no confidence against the Prime Minister. A representative of the party says that he hopes that by that time it won’t be too late for Curaçao.
