Motion adopted in the Second Chamber in The Hague

THE HAGUE, WILLEMSTAD - A large majority in the Second Chamber of the Dutch Parliament in The Hague yesterday adopted the motion not to have Curaçao used for international military intervention in Venezuela without a mandate under international law.

According to the motion, Curaçao "will not be used for military intervention in accordance with the agreements with the United States and Curaçao."

Earlier, the motion also stated that Curaçao "may not be misused as a springboard for unwanted military intervention." But that has been pulled out to get more supporters. 92 of the 150 Members of Parliament voted in favor. Only the parties VVD, PVV, SGP and Forum for Democracy voted against.
