Monument Council is sounding the alarm for murals

WILLEMSTAD - The Monument Council is against the painting of murals on the façades of protected historic buildings in the city center.

The paintings are sometimes so dominant and eye-catching that the characteristic features of the facades are sometimes no longer visible.

The Monument Council is now sounding the alarm at the Minister of Urban Planning. According to the Council, protected monuments may not be changed just for that reason, a permit is required.
