Ministries work together to improve road safety

WILLEMSTAD - The Ministry of VVRP and the United Nations Office for Project Services UNOPS started a large-scale traffic survey in Curaçao. Using different methods, the next two months the ministry will gain insight into the intensity of traffic, traffic flow, and the different vehicle categories that use the roads on the island.

The results of the traffic survey will be available in March and will be used for the planning and prioritization of maintenance, and possibly the adjustment and construction of roads. The results are also used where necessary to improve the mobility policy.

There are more ministries involved in increasing road safety, the intention is for the law to be adjusted so that traffic can also be monitored by means of cameras.
