Local | By Press release April 23, 2024

WILLEMSTAD - On April 22, 2024, Minister Ornelio "Kid" Martina, in the presence of Minister of Economic Development Ruisandro Cijntje, secretaries-general, and officials from various ministries, officially launched the Government Academy, a program of study, training, and development for the Government. Regardless of function or position, the program will provide every official with the opportunity to develop their talents and knowledge. To celebrate the official launch of the Study, Training, and Development Program, 6 successful workshops were organized, with the participation of officials from various government ministries.

The vision of the Government Academy is to offer a sustainable training structure that aligns with the needs of ministries and officials. Every official will be able to pursue quality training and acquire new knowledge and skills through workshops, accredited studies, and also through an e-learning platform. With the launch of the program, the Government of Curaçao prioritizes the personal and professional growth of our public service.

The Government Academy is based on 3 pillars of activity. The first pillar is called "Government is US," which refers to a program of basic knowledge to shape competent officials with a common sense of responsibility. The second pillar is called "Government is SKILLED," which refers to study and training to deepen knowledge in functions present in every ministry, such as legal, human resources, communication, IT, customer service, etc. The third pillar is called "Government is ME," which focuses on the personal development and well-being of the official.

The Government's Human Resources Department (HRO) developed the management and training program in close collaboration with SOAB Learning Lab. HRO and SOAB Learning Lab will form a unit together responsible for coordination, planning, and evaluation to ensure efficient and effective implementation.

The Government is committed to continuing to invest in the expertise of every public employee, not only to strengthen professional skills but also to provide space for personal development, growth, and well-being.
