Minister of Justice: No threats on safety Curaçao citizens through situation Venezuela

WILLEMSTAD – The government of Curaçao does not believe the safety of the citizens on the island is under threat due to the situation in Venezuela. As is already known, it has been unsettled for a long time in the neighboring country.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Stef Blok stated in a debate with the Lower House that defense is prepared for any military threat from Venezuela in the direction of Aruba, Curaçao, and Bonaire.

The Dutch parliament is very concerned about the safety of the residents on the ABC islands. According to Blok, Defense takes into account various scenarios.

 

In answer to questions from the media, Minister of Justice Quincy Girigorie says that the government of Curaçao does not share the concerns of the House of Representatives. The minister stresses though that his ministry is constantly monitoring the situation. But up until now, it has not been a threat for Curaçao.
