WILLEMSTAD - Finance Minister Kenneth Gijsbertha (MAN) is considering introducing a sanction policy for civil servants who are not or insufficiently authorized to make payments and who have imposed financial obligations on the government.
The Ministry of Finance has found that various ministries sometimes enter into financial obligations by persons who are not authorized to do so. And when or if the relevant minister is informed of this, the civil servant will not be sufficiently addressed.
The Minister indicates this in a letter to all secretaries-general, sector and policy directors, heads of inspection and implementing organizations. “It is clear that entering into obligations without the necessary authorization or insufficient authorization is considered a violation,” says Gijsbertha.
