
Visit to the Grand Duchess Marie Teresa Learning Development Center in Luxembourg for Special Students
WILLEMSTAD - Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports (ESKD), Mr. Sithree van Heydoorn, along with his delegation, visited the Grand Duchess Marie Teresa (CC-CDA) center for children and adolescents with special needs. The Minister and his delegation were honored during the visit by the presence of His Excellency Prince Louis X. M. Guillaume of Luxembourg, who attended as the ambassador of the CC-CDA organization.
The Ministry of Education, Childhood, and Youth of Luxembourg has established a total of nine competency centers for learning development, focusing on children with special needs, their parents, and teachers. The goal of this multidisciplinary organization is to provide guidance from professionals tailored to the specific needs of each child.
Mr. Laurent Dura (Director of the National Inclusion Education Service), Mrs. Diane Marx (Director of CDA), and Mrs. Tessa Lehnert (Psychologist) each gave presentations elaborating on topics such as the importance of inclusion of students, education and training of teachers and professionals, care for students with special needs related to education, and various other relevant topics. They also explained their national commission for inclusion and the national commission for students in secondary education.
