WILLEMSTAD - Minister Armin Konket of Government Policy, Planning and Service has consulted recently with the trade unions that had called an official strike two weeks ago. The judge put an end to this strike last week, on condition that the minister would consult with the trade unions.
The unions demand payment of a previously agreed wage increase, wage indexation and 3 percent extra salary. In the first of a series of consultations, it was agreed that Konket will discuss the trade union's demands in the Council of Ministers.
On Thursday, March 7, he will again meet with the trade unions to give an update on the discussions held with the government.
