WILLEMSTAD – The Dutch Minister of Foreign Relations Wopke Hoekstra will visit successively St. Maarten, Curaçao and Aruba from October 24 to 26 to discuss current geopolitical developments in Europe and the Western Hemisphere with the Prime Ministers and Governors of the countries.
In addition to bilateral discussions with the prime ministers and governors of the Caribbean countries, Minister Hoekstra will chair the Kingdom Consultation on Foreign Relations in Curaçao. This is an annual consultation that offers the opportunity to discuss the visions and interests of the countries in order to jointly define foreign relations. Minister Hoekstra, Prime Minister Pisas of Curaçao, Prime Minister Jacobs of St. Maarten and Prime Minister Wever-Croes of Aruba will discuss the consequences of the war in Ukraine for the Caribbean region, relations with Venezuela, and multilateral cooperation. A press conference will be held after the consultation.
