Military officer arrested again

WILLEMSTAD - The navy officer who was arrested at Mambo on the night of December 4 to 5 for drugs has been arrested again by the Dutch Royal Police. That was confirmed by press spokesman Guillano Schoop of the Public Prosecution Service.

The man was about to be sent back to the Netherlands but is now behind bars in Barber.

After investigating his telephone, the Public Prosecution Service thinks that the soldier has committed more offenses. He is also suspected of having bought and traded cocaine for fellow soldiers. More arrests at the naval bases are therefore not excluded.

The two colleagues who were arrested with the officer on Mambo last week have been released but remain suspect in this case. All three would have resisted their arrests and started a fistfight.

The Ministry of Defense applies a so-called zero-tolerance policy when it comes to drugs. They are generally dishonorably discharged from the navy.
