Militaries misused authority when searching Schotte’s cell

WILLEMSTAD - According to Schotte’s lawyer, the Dutch soldiers who carried out a search in the cell of former Prime Minister on Sunday, March 3 misused their authority. Lawyer Lizaima Da Costa Gomez writes this on behalf of her client Gerrit Schotte in an official statement. The military allegedly presented incorrect information that a user manual for a drone was found in the Schotte cell and that an investigation was conducted into the former prime minister. The counselor regrets that this "tendentious information" appeared in the media.

According to her, the truth is that at the time of the search in the cell of Schotte a report from PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC) was found and that it was seized. The report was about how the use of commercial drones by the Belgian government could improve the economy and make the government's work more efficient.
