Michèle Russel-Capriles nominated as deputy governor

WILLEMSTAD - Michèle Russel-Capriles will be deputy governor for the next six years. This is according to reliable sources close to the Governor of Curaçao.

The Kingdom Council of Ministers still has to approve the nomination. Russel-Capriles is the daughter of Diane Henriquez and Lio Capriles of the Maduro & Curiel’s Bank. She is now best known for her involvement in art and culture.

Russel-Capriles and Governor Lucille George-Wout have worked together in the past in the government headed by former Prime Minister of the Netherlands Antilles Miguel Pourier. They were members of the same party. George-Wout was President of Parliament and Russel-Capriles was a Member of Parliament.
