Meteo Issues Warning for Rough Seas Along Curaçao’s North Coast

WILLEMSTAD – The Meteorological Department of Curaçao (Meteo) has issued a precautionary advisory for rough seas along the northern coast. A yellow alert has been declared, with forecasts indicating moderately rough seas between 10:00 AM and 8:00 PM today.

Meteo advises seafarers, especially those with small vessels, to exercise caution. Swimmers are also urged to be vigilant and to avoid venturing too far from shore.

According to the department, such special advisories are issued for unusual weather conditions that could cause general discomfort or public concern, particularly when they cannot be adequately described in a standard weather forecast. The precautionary announcement serves as an early warning of potentially rough sea conditions.
