Meeting about holiday pay canceled: 14 MPs absent

WILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao parliament had to cancel a meeting yesterday due to the absence of 14 Members of Parliament. This was requested by Member of Parliament Michelangelo Martines of the new party KEM.

Martines wants the commitment from the government that the holiday pay for civil servants will still be paid. Incoming Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas said in a response that the financial situation of the island must first be carefully examined. It is too early to make such commitments, Pisas said.
