WILLEMSTAD - The burdensome measures that would be introduced on August 1 have been postponed for a month.
It is about increasing excise duties on alcohol and cigarettes and setting a 9 percent sales tax when importing goods. According to finance minister Kenneth Gijsbertha, the bill was not completed on time.
The Advisory Board must now consider the measures and approve them so that they are likely to take effect from 1 September, said the minister of finance.
