McWilliam new minister of economic development

WILLEMSTAD - The current Member of Parliament for the coalition partner MAN, Giselle McWilliam has been appointed by her party to become the news minister of economic development.

The post has been vacant for quite some time after Dr. Steven Martina resigned to deal with a legal case against him. A complaint was filed against him by opposition party Korsou di Nos Tur. He was involved in the decision to raise insurance tariffs while still owning shares in an insurance company here in Curaçao. All this while Martina told the Prime Minister during the screening process that he had distanced himself from these shares.

McWilliam will now take over a post that is extremely important seeing that the island needs more projects and investments that can boost the ailing economy.
