Mass dismissal threatens Aruba Airlines

ORANJESTAD - In Aruba there is a threat of mass dismissal at Aruba Airlines because the government does not yet give permission to operate flights from Venezuela to the United States via Aruba.

The borders with Venezuela have been closed since February and Aruba decided in May, when Maduro reopened the borders, to close the border with Venezuela itself. Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes has indicated that she is aware of the situation at the airline but cannot just make exceptions.

Solutions are being sought to prevent the closure of Aruba Airlines. Aruba is in the process of introducing an ESTA model. Travelers from Venezuela must first request permission online to travel to Aruba.
