WILLEMSTAD - The Maritime Days 2021 will not take place due to the increase in the number of corona infections on Curaçao. This was announced by the Curaçao Ports Authority (CPA).

The event was scheduled for September 27, 28 and 29. All secondary schools of Curaçao were invited for those days. The main aim of the Maritime Days is to make students aware of the importance of the port. The organization hoped to interest the students in an education in the maritime direction.

This year's theme would be 'Seafarers: at the core of shipping's future'. The CPA indicates that it takes the safety of the students into account. According to the organization, it is not responsible to continue the Maritime Days with the current situation regarding corona.
