WILLEMSTAD - A 27-year-old man was sentenced to 3 years in prison in Curaçao this week for sex with his partner's nine-year-old daughter.

The woman found the man in the middle of the night on her daughter's bed late last year with his underpants on his knees. According to the girl, the man raped her when she was in her bed.

The man himself said that he was drunk that night and could not remember anything.

Medical research revealed that the girl had been raped. Although the man said he cannot remember anything, the rape has been proven according to the judge. Of the 36 months imposed on the man, 8 months are conditional.
