Maan new Attorney General Curaçao, Sint Maarten and the BES islands

WILLEMSTAD - Mr. A.C. (Ton) Maan will be the new Attorney General of the Public Prosecution Service (OM) of Curaçao, Sint Maarten and Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba (BES).

On the recommendation of the Dutch Minister Grapperhaus of Justice and Security, the Kingdom Council of Ministers, also on behalf of his counterparts from Curaçao and Sint Maarten, has decided to nominate him for appointment as of April 1, 2021.

Mr. Maan (1959) has worked for the Public Prosecution Service in the Netherlands since 1989 and was Chief Public Prosecutor of the Sint Maarten Public Prosecutor's Office between 2015 and 2018. He currently works for the Functional Public Prosecutor's Office in Amsterdam and before that, from 2018 to 2020, he was a senior Public Prosecutor team leader in tackling subversive crime at the Amsterdam District Prosecutor's Office.

Mr. Maan will succeed Mr. R.T. (Roger) Bos on 1 April this year, whose term as attorney general of Curaçao, Sint Maarten and the BES islands has expired after a period of reappointment.
