WILLEMSTAD - The political party Movementu Kousa Promé believes that politicians who intentionally lie should be subject to criminal prosecution. According to René Rosalia, the leader of the political movement, deceitful statements by politicians go against the prevailing norms and values on the island. Rosalia fears that politicians who do not speak the truth can destabilize society. He proposes amending the law to allow for the prosecution of politicians for lying.
In preparation for the upcoming elections, the party has drafted a series of proposals aimed at making the electoral process and the governance of the island more transparent and fair. Rosalia, who served as Minister of Education for Pueblo Soberano more than ten years ago, noted that while his party, Movementu Kousa Promé, is not currently represented in parliament, it has participated in every parliamentary election since its founding in 2015.
