Lockdown extended until April 30

WILLEMSTAD - Prime Minister Eugene Rhuggenaath says the current situation has been evaluated in the past week. The decision has been made that all measures, including the lockdown, will be extended until April 30. The curfew therefore applies from 7 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. Vital companies may remain open until 6 p.m.

There may be a maximum of 10 people at a funeral, excluding funeral home personnel. Financial institutions are exempt, and customers can visit the bank for important matters.

Individual sports are allowed during designated hours, including Sundays. Fishermen can apply for an exemption. Fishing is only allowed for the local market. Laboratories are admitted to vital companies.

The government is in talks with stakeholders including the private sector. There is talk about perspectives and how the island can return to a normal life. It is important to guarantee employment, but health remains important.

Rhuggenaath says that his team is working on how to move forward in the near future. A plan for this will be presented next week.
