Langeler will combine Curaçao national coaching with a role at FC Groningen

WILLEMSTAD, GRONINGEN - Art Langeler will start next season as head of senior soccer development at FC Groningen. The former trainer of PEC Zwolle will combine that function with the national coaching of Curaçao.

A month ago, it was already announced that Langeler would become national coach of Curaçao. He will work there with Guus Hiddink, who has been appointed as technical director of the Curaçao Soccer Association.

In his new position at FC Groningen, where he will work full-time, the 51-year-old Langeler must ensure, among other things, a good flow of talent to the first team.

"Art has earned his spurs in professional soccer and has held various prominent positions in the training process. It is great that he believes in our vision and way of working," says Mark-Jan Fledderus, technical director of FC Groningen, about Langeler.

Langeler led PEC Zwolle as a trainer in 2012 to promotion to the Eredivisie. He returned to the 'Blauwvingers' at the beginning of this season, but that was not a success. In November, the Gelderlander decided to stop at the current gate.

Between his two PEC periods, Langeler was successively head of youth academy at PSV, assistant coach at the Orange squad, interim national coach of the Juniors and director of football development at the KNVB.
