Kranshi to Temporarily Handle Residence Permit Stamping Starting July 14

WILLEMSTAD – Starting Monday, July 14, residents of Curaçao who need to have their residence permits stamped in their passports can do so at Kranshi (Registrar’s Office in Otrabanda), as the Department of Admissions (Servisio di Atmishon) temporarily relocates part of its services.

This change comes as renovation work begins on the main building of the Department of Admissions in Saliña. Since the temporary usage period of the Permit Counter (Vergunningenloket) has now ended, the service is being moved again to ensure continuity in its operations.

The temporary service at Kranshi will only be available to clients with an appointment, and applies specifically to services such as:

Stamping of residence permits

Issuing of refund vouchers

Return authorizations

Certificates for final departure

Extensions of tourist stays

The residence permit stamp is an official endorsement placed in a person’s passport, serving as proof of legal residency in Curaçao. It includes essential details such as the type of permit, validity period, and any applicable conditions. This stamp is required for several important processes, including obtaining an ID card, opening a bank account, and demonstrating legal residency when entering or exiting the island.

Authorities encourage residents to make appointments in advance and to prepare the necessary documentation for their scheduled visits to avoid delays.
