WILLEMSTAD - Yesterday there was a meeting between the Ministry of Justice, including KPC, OM and the Ambulatory Youth Care Agency Curaçao (AJJC), the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport (OWCS), including a number of school boards and the Ministry of Health, Environment and Nature (GMN).

The meeting was in the context of the recently signed cooperation protocol "Safe Schools" and aims to come up with a number of concrete interventions that can be implemented to ensure a safer school environment. Early detection and prevention play an important role in this.

Schools have recently become the scenario of many fights, threats and other behavior beyond norms. This was the reason to join forces and find ways to improve cooperation in the field of prevention. This project is part of a broader prevention program that the Ministry of Justice is going to promote.

The meeting also included the Advent school board, Evangelical Brother Congregation (EGB), Christian Education Protestant Association (VPCO) and compulsory education unit, Sentro pa Inovashon i Guia Edukashonal (SIGE), Fundashon pa Maneho di Adikshon (FMA), Representashon Mayornan Uni (Rema Uní) and Yudansa Alternativo pa un Vishon Eksitoso (Yave).
