King informed about corona outbreak in Curaçao

WILLEMSTAD - King Willem-Alexander spoke online on Wednesday evening with Governor Lucille George-Wout and those who lead the fight against the coronavirus in Curaçao, such as the head of the epidemiology and research department of the Department of Medicine & Health Affairs, who is responsible for the vaccination campaign and the director of the Curaçao Medical Center.

The king wanted to be informed of the current situation by those directly involved: the measures to contain the spread of the virus, the overcrowded intensive care unit of the Curaçao Medical Center and the scaling up of the vaccination program. In the past 24 hours, another 4 patients died. However, it does seem that a downward trend has started in terms of new infections.

Because in many cases a physical working visit is not possible, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima regularly inform themselves via video calls about the consequences of the corona outbreak.
