WILLEMSTAD - The opposition party Kòrsou Esun Mihó (KEM) expresses doubts about the proposal for a dedicated radio station for Parliament and seeks more clarity. Former MP and KEM staff member Anthony Godett states that previous attempts to obtain information have failed and emphasizes that taxpayer money must be spent carefully.
The KEM faction objects to setting up their own station, especially given current spending on travel and the nearly depleted budget for a new building. Previous broadcasts were provided by Radio Hoyer II, Curom, and Direct Media.
Godett questions the need for a dedicated station now. He considers it a waste of money, as such a station would need to be set up and staffed. Godett suspects that there may be retaliatory motives against Direct Media, the current station that broadcasts the meetings.
Parliament President Charetti America-Francisca (MFK) expects savings with the new radio station, but the KEM faction believes it to be an expensive undertaking that requires careful consideration.
