WILLEMSTAD - The political party Kòrsou Esun Mihó (KEM) is weighing its next steps after the recent arrest of its leader and Member of Parliament, Michelangelo ‘Lo’ Martines.
KEM expressed shock on social media at the detention of its founder, underscoring his long-standing commitment to supporting the disadvantaged on Curaçao. "Just as KEM had the opportunity to demonstrate its values and vision, we are faced with this unfortunate incident," the party stated.
During a party board meeting, members discussed how to proceed under these unexpected circumstances. Party coordinator Anthony Godett has indicated his willingness to step in as a replacement for Martines in Parliament, but emphasized that the decision ultimately rests with Martines himself.
